Intech Machine and Fabrication
was originally conceived by Kevin Lopes in 1986 while enrolled
in the Aeronautical Engineering program at Cal Poly, San Luis
Obispo. While at the university, Kevin enrolled in a
work-study program at Bailey Bridges, a bridge refurbishing
company in San Luis Obispo that reconditioned World War II era
portable bridges. He was promoted to yard foreman and was
responsible for an 11-man work crew. Kevin spent two years
improving his welding, fabrication, and metal processing
skills while developing a unique management style under the
guidance of mentor and fellow engineer, John Niel. More
